Originally from the state of Florida, Dr. True moved to Alabama in 1989 to attend college. She graduated magna cum laude from Auburn University College of Agriculture in 1991 and then graduated cum laude from Auburn University College of Veterinary Medicine with her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine in 1994.
After graduation Dr. True returned to Florida and worked at a mixed animal practice in Okeechobee for four years. In 1998, she returned to Alabama permanently and worked at multiple practices in Madison, Morgan, and Limestone counties before establishing Family Pet Health Care in March of 2000. As the practice grew, she purchased property and began building a new facility in 2012. In February of 2013, Dr. True and her staff moved to the current location.
Dr. True has a special interest in nurturing the human-animal bond and providing life-long care for her patients. Dr. True is married and has two step children in college. Her pet family includes a house full of dogs and a very special cat. In her free time, she enjoys training her border collies in agility and obedience. Dr. True loves taking trips to the beach and spending time on Lake Guntersville and having fun on all types of watercraft.
