Family Pet Health Care is pleased to offer ultrasound, a powerful tool used in veterinary medicine that enables us to provide a higher level of quality care to our patients.
This diagnostic technique uses high-frequency sound waves (ultrasound) to produce clear pictures of what is inside the patient’s body. Unlike some other imaging devices, such as x-rays, ultrasound uses a very low level of radiation that is safe enough even for pregnant females.
Ultrasound is a non-invasive, painless way to diagnose and evaluate many common diseases. Ultrasound waves can generate excellent images of abdominal organs, including the liver, spleen, gallbladder, and kidneys. It is also useful for assessing fetal health and monitoring pregnancy in breeding animals, and it can help us diagnose and stage (determine the severity of) some forms of cancer.
Family Pet Health Care offers ultrasound and other in-clinic diagnostic services to pets in Decatur, Tanner, Athens, Trinity, and other nearby communities.
